The University of Michigan Health Systems was named to the 2014 Becker’s Hospital Review list of “100 Great Hospitals in America”.
UMHS was only one of four hospitals in Michigan that was named to the list.
The list represents the most prominent, forward-thinking and focused healthcare facilities in the nation. In addition, those chosen were awarded the honor due to their medical and scientific breakthroughs, best-in-class patient care and commitment to their community due to their roles as an academic hub and/or local mainstays.
UMHS was selected based upon its rich history, strong credentials and growing focus on how to best care for patients in an era of reform.
UMHS has received this distinction every year since Becker’s Hospital Review formed the “100 Great Hospitals in America”.
The list was developed by the editorial team at Becker’s Hospital Review which considered nominations as well as reputable ranking sources such as U.S. News & World Report, Truven Health Analytics’ 100 Top Hospitals, Healthgrades, Magnet designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, The Leapfrog Group and several other resources.
