The University of Michigan Health System has been honored by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA) and named among “Metropolitan Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.”
The recognition, given to UMHS for the seventh straight year, comes as a result of survey responses received from the Health System’s faculty and staff. UMHS was honored along with other select companies by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA).
“The U-M Health System is honored to be given this recognition,” says Deborah Childs, chief human resource officer at the UMHS. “It serves as a testimonial to our employees’ continued ability to serve a diverse patient population, think creatively and work together in new and effective ways.”
For the competition, UMHS was evaluated on the basis of its employees’ survey responses to different questions on leadership, productivity, communications, career opportunities, working conditions, management, pay and benefits.
An independent research firm evaluates each company based on key measures in various categories. They include Compensation, Benefits and Employee Solutions; Employee Enrichment, Engagement and Retention; Employee Education and Development; Recruitment, Selection and Orientation; Employee Achievement and Recognition; Communication and Shared Vision; Diversity and Inclusion; Work-Life Balance; Community Initiatives; Strategic Company Performance and the Best of the Best Small Business.
