Dr. Pescovitz to appear on prime time TV special about the Affordable Care Act this Sunday on WWJ-TV CBS 62

U-M Health System CEO Ora Hirsch Pescovitz, M.D., is expected to appear on a CBS 62 special about health care reform that airs at 6:30 p.m. Sunday right before 60 Minutes.

The 30-minute segment on Detroit’s WWJ-TV titled “The Health Care Act And You — An Eye On The Future” will address the Affordable Care Act and its impact on the state and region. Pescovitz is among several leaders in healthcare, business and government who were interviewed for the story by the show’s producer Carol Cain.

Other leaders appearing in the special include Blue Cross Blue Shield President and CEO Daniel Loepp, State Rep. Patrick Colebeck, Michigan Community Health Department Director Jim Haveman, Beaumont Health System President and CEO Gene Michalski, Michigan Business and Professional Association President Jennifer Kluge, and AARP’s Barbara Spreitzer Berent.

On Oct. 1, people around the country may begin enrolling for new health insurance options offered under the health marketplace exchange created under the law.
